Steven Busselen, MD

Lead Physician
Family Practice
Isla Vista Clinic

As a Family Physician, I have patients of all ages. My patients see me for diabetes, high blood pressure, ingrown toenail removals, contraception and more. The needs of my patients guide my learning. Here in Isla Vista we have many patients seeking testing, treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. When a patient asked about medication to help prevent HIV infection, I learned how to correctly prescribe and monitor this highly effective medication. I treat addictions including opiates, alcohol and tobacco. My patients with chronic pain have a wide range of non-narcotic treatment options. For my patients who are underinsured or uninsured, I like to think of myself and my staff as experts in finding ways to provide testing and treatment at lower prices.

Hobbies:

When I’m not at work I love spending time with my wife, our two young sons, and our fearsome guard cat (Ms. Wuffles).
